Masternodes coins: are they halal?

12 Masternodes coins screened against our 27-point Shariah methodology. Open any report for pillar scores, criterion breakdowns and purification guidance.

What is Masternodes?

Masternodes are dedicated servers that perform advanced network functions beyond standard mining or validation, such as instant and private transactions, governance voting, and treasury fund allocation, in exchange for a share of block rewards. Operators must lock a fixed amount of the network's cryptocurrency as collateral to run one, which secures the network against sybil attacks and aligns incentives with long-term participation. Prominent examples include Dash, which pioneered the model, along with PIVX, Zcoin, and various forks that adopted similar tiered node architectures.

How CryptoUmmah screens Masternodes coins

As with every category we track, coins here are screened individually against our 27-point methodology across the three core pillars — riba (interest), gharar (uncertainty), and maysir (speculation/gambling) — rather than being judged by category label alone. Two coins sharing this tag can land on very different verdicts depending on their specific tokenomics, revenue model, and governance structure. Across the 12 Masternodes coins we've screened, the average Shariah compliance score sits at 64.4/100, with 25% classified Halal, 67% Mashbooh, and 8% Haram.
