IMX hasn’t been screened for shariah compliance by anyone that we are aware off. However, upon a brief review of the technology it is very comparable to many other layer 2 projects that have been deemed as halal. The concern I personally have with this (as well as any gaming token for that matter) is the gaming aspect, although is not against Islam, it is not exactly for Islam either, nor does it serve any human benefit other than entertainment.
Personally, I stay away from media and entertainment projects as there are too many grey areas. For this particular project, I see a 2% fee is applied on all asset sales and NFT trades. And looking at a selection of images I can see a lot of cartoon women dressed in skimpy outfits. Not sure how profits from selling these or other fantasy images/ games can be considered halal? I certainly wouldn’t be comfortable taking a share of something like this.
I am not a scholar and this is just a personal opinion.
Curious to know, does it mean all interaction with it should be avoided. What if someone moves eth/ usdc from imx to some other chain via a bridge?
