Sir yesterday I asked you about Wanchain and you told me it was probably Halal
but there is also another website here which showed up: Haram
this is the website : https://cryptohalal.cc/
Unfortunately, You wont be able to check this coin there because I am a premium member and its just allowed for us
But here is the text copied from that coin:
Project services
Provides a digital asset management wallet that contains the following services:
WanSwap exchange platform service.
The lottery service is in the form of a game-like application.
Lending platform.
Yield farming service in the form of a game-like application.
Sending and receiving cryptocurrencies.
Store (NFT).
Uses of currency
It is used for payments on the blockchain.
Used in governance.
Validators (miners) can also earn WAN as a reward for validating transactions.
Used to transfer value.
Project rule:
Not permissible
OK, so there are several projects where there is a difference of opinion in terms of Shariah compliance, like this WAN is considered halal by Sharlife, but haram by CryptoHalal (which we were not aware of until you mentioned it).
As a general rule, we recommend not investing in coins that have less than 2 separate sources confirming halal status. So in this case there is ambiguity and probably best avoided.
From the points mentioned by CH:
- exchange platform. Maybe its OK, maybe its not so need to assess more.
The lottery service. Games are not haram, but if elements of gambling as lottery suggests then could well be haram.
Lending platform. Does the income from this service impact the coin value? Can it be separated or avoided?
Yield farming. As above
Sending and receiving cryptocurrencies. Acceptable
Store (NFT). Acceptable, with conditions on the NFT types.
As you can see there is a lot of work that needs to be done to screen properly and its difficult to say halal or haram outright. Some aspects can be fully halal and others fully haram within the same project. In such cases, you need to establish if you can separate the two and only stay within the halal areas; then it would be acceptable, otherwise it would not.
Thanks, sir You are right JazakaALLAH
